Student-Parent Counsellor
Job Description:
As a Student-Parent Counsellor, your primary role is to provide guidance and support to students and their parents, addressing academic, behavioural, and emotional concerns. You act as a liaison between students, parents, and educational institutions, fostering a positive and productive educational experience. Your role involves conducting counselling sessions, offering academic advice, and promoting overall well-being for students.

- Communication Skills: Clear and empathetic communication to understand and address concerns effectively.
- Empathy: Ability to empathize with the challenges faced by both students and parents.
- Conflict Resolution: Capability to mediate and resolve conflicts between students, parents, and educational institutions.
- Confidentiality: Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding student and family information.
- Knowledge of Educational Systems: Understanding of academic structures, curricula, and educational processes.
- Resourcefulness: Ability to provide information on educational resources, programs, and support services.
- Collaboration: Collaborating with teachers, administrators and other stakeholders to enhance student success.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A bachelor's or higher degree in Counselling, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Counselling Certification: Certification in Counselling or relevant credentials is advantageous.
- Experience: Prior experience in student Counselling or a related field is beneficial.
- Knowledge of Educational Systems: Familiarity with the educational systems and curricula relevant to the student population.
- Interpersonal Skills: Building positive relationships with students, parents, and educational staff.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Capability to assess and address academic, behavioural, or emotional challenges.
- Ethical Conduct: Adherence to ethical standards in Counselling practices.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using computer systems and educational software.
- Online Counselling Skills: Familiarity with online Counselling platforms for virtual Counselling sessions.
